Textual content description offered by the architects. Nestled throughout the densely forested municipality of Bromont, close to Montreal, Oakhill is a single-family residence conceived by native architect studio, Matière Première Structure, and constructed by its companion agency, Nu Drōm.



Designed to seamlessly combine with the encompassing maple tree forest, the house faces eastward on a delicate slope. A wetland space to the east types a pure clearing, whereas a rock outcropping to the west creates a steeper incline, shielding the residence from each dominant winds and neighboring views.

Idea & Inside Areas. Emphasizing a modest scale, Oakhill is a modern, single-story residence that harmonizes with the forest cover, impressed by the prevailing deciduous timber. Rooted within the gently sloping terrain, a light-weight roof is upheld by a refined but sturdy construction. The alternating single-slope roof gives visible curiosity, whereas additionally managing daylight and shading. Inside areas fluidly merge with the pure atmosphere, dissolving the boundary between structure and nature.



Program. The architectural format encompasses a dwelling space that connects to each indoor and outside areas by means of expansive glazed glass, extending in direction of the master suite.
